It is time to begin to advance!
It is time to advance in our faith, advance in our purpose, advance in God's promises. It is time to advance.
I want to give you a few things you need to make sure you advance in 2018
A- attacking mindset
You can't be passive in your approach to the promises of God. The bible says that God's people had a promise from God but they had to go and possess it. If we take a passive approach to what God wants to do in us then we will continue to miss the appointed time to capture God's best.
D- dedicated soul
3 John 2
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Advancing this year will not be about a destination you arrive but about a transformation that happens.
To advance your soul must prosper, it must grow and be dedicated to God. Our soul, which is our mind, will, and emotions are the very things that cause us to take steps forward or be stuck. If our soul is stuck by fear, disappointment or something else then even if we advance in our career we will still be stuck and not really move forward.
V- victorious speech
Your speech can many times hold you back from where you desire to go. Joshua & Caleb along with 10 others went in to look at the land God had promised them. The first 10 came back with a bad report. A report of giants and huge walls, while Joshua and caleb both saw the same thing they said "we are well able for God is with us." You speech won't change the the reality of the current situation you are in but it can create a different reality for you to live in. The fact of what you are going though is true but there is a higher truth, and that is what God has said. Choose to only speak what God has said and you will see what He has promised.
A- appetite for God’s word
Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
If we are going to advance this year then we must increase our appetite for God's word. It is the only thing that can guarantee success. In the book of Deuteronomy it is said that man must live by every word that comes from the mouth of God and in the wilderness when Jesus was hungry he quoted from this passage. Jesus knew that His success was found in hungering for God's word.
N- no going back
You must change your view of the past. The past for many looks easier, however it is not better. Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. The people of God wanted even to go back to Egypt where they were slaves because it was familiar. The familiar sometimes looks attractive but it is distraction to your destiny. If we are going to advance we have to commit to not going backwards in any form but to keep pressing ahead.
C- commitment to pursue His presence
In the process of advancing you have never been down this road before so you cannot trust your methods and plans but you must trust God. The only way to trust the Lord is to pursue His presence. Everything other thing will leave you unsatisfied. God's presence is vital to advancing in your life.
E- Eyes on Jesus
Hebrews 12:2
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
As you make a decision this year to advance remember it is more about what God does in you than what you are trying to accomplish. If you grow and advance in Christ likeness you will accomplish more for the kingdom of God then ever before.
